Blogmas Day 10: My 15-minute Makeup Routine

I am not a beauty blogger. I would describe my makeup routine similar to the Jungle Book’s bare necessities. I do just enough to cover up some self-perceived flaws and then rock and roll out the door. I have desperately tried to learn how to do eye make-up over the years and end up looking like I’m headed for some warrior dash instead of the office. So, you’ll notice that part will be missing from this routine.

Let’s get into it! I use six products, outside of my skincare routine, to get me ready to roll out the door in 15 minutes or less! True confession, I never used to wash my face in the mornings either but after getting embarrassed by my mother over that one I now start with a fresh clean face every morning.

For foundation, I’ve used this Make Up Forever HD foundation off and on for a few years now. It is the best full coverage long-lasting foundation I’ve ever used. I’ll swap between this and It Cosmetics CC cream depending on what I’m in the mood for. I highly recommend this one if you are looking for a full coverage foundation.

If you know Laughing at Leigh Ann, (you can find her blog here), she gifted me with this Tarte Creaseless Undereye Concealer. I apply this under my eyes and cover any blemishes. This stuff is KILLER. It gives you a fresh look and doesn’t cake up throughout the day either.

Next up in the lineup is setting powder. Honestly, I only recently implemented this and I don’t know what took me so long! I’ve always had oily skin especially as the day goes on and this Make Up Forever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder is a DREAM. I use this to set my under eye and apply liberally over my forehead and t-zone aka the danger zone.

I use the brushes below to apply everything. You can find solid brushes on Amazon, Target, or Ulta!

I’ve always purchased Sephora brand bronzer. I’m sure it’s not the best out there but its inexpensive and lasts forever. It also smells great even though I fear that is because it is packed with fragrances. I smear this (yes, technical term there) around the outside of my forehead, cheek bones, and bridge of my nose. I also, saw on Youtube, a girl use any extra on her brush to blend that into her neckline. I’ve since adopted that and it really helps everything in.

To wrap things up, I apply Anastasia Clear Brow Gel and Sephora brand mascara to call it a day! I have the longest eye brow hairs and they get what my family loves to call “Crazy Brow” in the mornings. Clear brow gel is stellar in helping tame those puppies. On weekends I will sometimes use only these two products and leave the rest of my face clean for the day.

Most of these products, linked above, come in sample sizes and would make great stocking stuffers this year!

What is your MUST HAVE product in your bathroom?

xoxo Daily Bailey

  1. fall/winter/spring i love to do a full face–I’ve been trying allll the foundations (though not makeup forever yet) because none of them meet my standard. I think I have found a winner though- Colourpop no filter matte. They have the best eyeshadows too, check it out. summer– it’s just too dang hot and anything I put on will be sweating off my face before 8am. At most when it’s hot I will cover my dark circles with some concealer and do a swipe of mascara.—-Do you have a have a favorite makeup remover?

    1. Oooo I’ll have to try Colourpop! I’ve tried their lipsticks and love them. As for favorite makeup remover, good old coconut oil is my cheap go to but if I’m going to pay up I love cleansing balms because they are so gentle at getting your makeup off. A brand called Pharmacy at Sephora has a fantastic one that is non-toxic too!
